Amid a rally for its stock, beauty and personal care (BPC) major Nykaa has allotted 4.9 Lakh shares to its employees. The allotted shares are worth INR 11.6 Cr as per Nykaa’s closing price for today, INR 234.20.

In a filing with the exchanges today, the company said that the allotted equity shares shall rank pari-passu with the existing equity shares of the company.

“These Equity Shares are allotted pursuant to the exercise of vested stock options by the employees under Employee Stock Option Schemes of the Company,” Nykaa said. However, there weren’t any further disclosures from the company regarding the scheme of the allotment.

Besides, the company also announced the international expansion of its owned brand Kay Beauty earlier today. The BPC brand, which was cofounded by actor Katrina Kaif, launched at British retailer Space NK earlier today.

The development comes amid a strong rally for the company’s shares, touching a fresh 52-week high of INR 236.80 during intra-day trading today. The company’s shares settled at INR 234.20 by the end of the day, still marking a 0.97% jump from previous close.

The company’s shares have zoomed about 14% since the company disclosed its Q1 FY26 financials on August 12.

The BPC major’s consolidated net profit zoomed nearly 80% YoY to INR 24.5 Cr during the quarter, while its revenue jumped 23% YoY to INR 2,154.9 Cr.

In its quarterly disclosure, Nykaa said that offline retail network expansion continued to be the primary driver of growth for the business, with it expanding its on-ground presence by 36% YoY to 2.5 Lakh sq ft.

The growth of Nykaa’s beauty segment continued to outpace its fashion vertical. Revenue from the beauty vertical surged over 25% YoY to INR 1,957.4 Cr, while its profit grew 32% to INR 96.3 Cr.

“Nykaa is well positioned for success as we are operating in this high growth environment where BPC and fashion are the fastest-growing categories in discretionary consumption,” founder Falguni Nayar said during the company’s 13th annual general meeting held earlier this week.
