Bengaluru-based Citrus Freight, a logistics tech startup focused on refrigerated container shipping for perishables, has raised Rs 2.5 crore in a bridge funding round from Caret Capital, Indigram Labs Foundation, and other strategic investors.

The fresh infusion brings the startup’s total funding to Rs 5.25 crore, and will be used to grow its team and enhance its digital infrastructure.

What does Citrus Freight do?

Founded in 2016 by Biplob Barik and Ricky Goyal, Citrus Freight operates a mobile-first platform that helps Indian exporters book refrigerated containers, with end-to-end support including customs clearance, surface transport, and real-time temperature tracking.

The startup has built its reputation around handling temperature-sensitive commodities such as fruits, vegetables, meat, marine products, and flowers, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the agricultural export sector.

Citrus Freight claims its platform has significantly reduced booking times—from 72 hours to just 10 minutes—and helped reduce spoilage while expanding client market reach by more than 40%. The startup supports exports to regions including Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, offering exporters a digital dashboard with integrated features like predictive analytics, compliance workflows, and remote temperature monitoring.

“Our platform has been instrumental in solving export inefficiencies for Indian SMEs,” the company said in a statement, underscoring its focus on enabling smaller players to compete globally.

The new funding will support further development of its tech stack, particularly to boost analytics and improve the temperature tracking layer critical to perishable goods transport.

Citrus Freight now plans to move 1,500 containers and generate Rs 45 crore in revenue over the next 12 to 24 months.
