Even as India revelled in the festive spirit, startup funding took a heavy hit this week. Between October 20 and 25, only three startup funding deals materialised, seeing Uniphore, UnifyApps and Michezo Sports together raise $312.5 Mn in fresh capital.
This marked a 57% decline from the $737.4 Mn raised by 30 startups in the preceding week.

Key Startup Funding Highlights Of The Week
- On the back of Uniphore’s $260 Mn round, enterprise tech became the most funded sector this week.
- Minicorn startup UnifyApps also announced the close of its $50 Mn Series B round this week, making AI the second most funded segment.
- Prominent investors backing Indian startups this week included Nvidia, Rainmatter and Westbridge Capital.
- No funding deal materialised at the seed stage this week.
Other Developments Of The Week
- India Quotient marked the final close of its fifth fund at $129 Mn, double the size of its $64 Mn Fund IV.
- Shadowfax received SEBI’s nod for its initial public offering (IPO), three months after the logistics startup filed its DRHP via the confidential pre-filing route.
- Meesho filed its updated DRHP with SEBI for an IPO, which will comprise a fresh issue of INR 4,250 Cr and an OFS component of 17.56 Cr shares.
