Travel-focussed SaaS company RateGain’s founder, CEO and MD Bhanu Chopra has increased his stake in the company by acquiring 1.43 Lakh equity shares of the company via open market transactions.
Chopra’s stake in the company increased to 37.79% following the transaction on November 14 from 37.67% earlier.
RateGain’s promoters and promoter group, which includes Bhanu Chopra, Usha Chopra and Megha Chopra, cumulatively held 48.16% stake in the company at the end of September quarter.
In March 2024, Megha and Usha together divested shares equivalent to 3% stake out of the total holding of 51.25% of the promoters and the promoter group. The divestment led to selling pressure in the company’s shares, with Bhanu having to reiterate his commitment to RateGain.
The latest development comes days after RateGain reported its Q2 FY26 financial numbers. The company’s net profit declined 2% YoY to INR 51 Cr but rose 9% QoQ. Operating revenue rose 6% YoY to 8% QoQ to INR 277.3 Cr.
RateGain entered into a definitive agreement to buy US-based AI market platform Sojern in a $250 Mn deal in the September quarter. While the acquired business’ turnover for FY25 stood at $177.2 Mn, RateGain’s annual run rate for FY26 breached the $300 Mn mark in Q2 FY26.
RateGain also revised upwards its revenue guidance to 55% to 60% YoY growth for FY26.
“In terms of EBITDA, we would be looking at a full-year EBITDA margin of around 16%-17% considering Sojern’s current EBITDA margin stands at 14%. The March 2026 EBITDA exit run rate will be anywhere between 16.5%-17.5% based on Phase-I of our integration and cost synergy,” Chopra said during Q2 earnings call.
Following the strong guidance for the full fiscal year, RateGain’s shares have been on a bull run. The stock has jumped about 8% since the company disclosed its Q2 FY26 numbers.
The shares ended today’s trading session 0.40% higher at INR 717.70 on the BSE.
