Media SaaS major Amagi’s shares made an underwhelming debut on the stock exchanges today. The company’s shares got listed at INR 317 apiece on the BSE, a 12.2% discount to the issue price of INR 361.
On the NSE, the stock got listed at INR 318 per share, 11.9% below the issue price.
With this, Amagi became the first new-age tech company to make its public market debut in 2026. Its IPO comprised a fresh issue of INR 816 Cr and OFS of 2.69 Cr shares.
Early backers including Premji Invest’s PI Opportunities Fund I, Accel, Norwest Venture Partners X, Trudy Holdings, among others, offloaded shares via the OFS. Premji Invest emerged as the biggest gainer, raking in a 16.8X return on its investment.
The company had set a price band of INR 343 to INR 361 for the public issue. At the upper end of the price band, the IPO valued Amagi at around INR 7,966 Cr (about $885 Mn). The public issue was subscribed over 30X.
Ahead of its IPO, Amagi raised INR 805 Cr from anchor investors, with mutual funds accounting for the bulk of the allocation.
Amagi plans to use the IPO proceeds to invest in its tech and cloud infrastructure and fuel certain unidentified acquisitions.
Founded in 2008 by Baskar Subramanian, Srividhya Srinivasan, and Srinivasan KA, Amagi is a software company that operates in the advertising technology space, offering solutions across connected TV (CTV), programmatic advertising and data analytics. The company serves media owners and advertisers across global markets, with a strong presence in North America.
Amagi provides the technology that inserts ads into live and on-demand video streams at the server level, which helps in avoiding ad blockers, reduces buffering and works consistently across devices.
On the financial front, it reported a net profit of INR 6.5 Cr as against a net loss of INR 66 Cr in H1 FY25. Its operating revenue rose 35% YoY to INR 704.8 Cr.
