Delhivery Ltd, a Gurugram-based integrated logistics services provider, has appointed co-founder and Chief People Officer Suraj Saharan as a Whole-time Director on its board, effective immediately.
The appointment, approved by the company’s Board of Directors on May 16, 2025, will be for a five-year term ending May 15, 2030, and is subject to shareholder approval.
Saharan, who has been with Delhivery since its inception, currently oversees the company’s talent strategy and organisational development in his capacity as Chief People Officer. Prior to this, he led the company’s New Ventures unit and played a key role in launching Delhivery’s entry into the full truckload (FTL) logistics segment. A graduate of IIT Bombay, Saharan brings experience from Bain & Company, ICICI Lombard, and UIDAI to the boardroom.
In an exchange filing, Delhivery affirmed that Saharan is not debarred from serving as a director by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other authority, as per regulatory disclosure norms.
Boardroom realignment as Delhivery eyes synergies
The appointment of Saharan deepens the representation of founding leadership on Delhivery’s board, which already includes co-founders Sahil Barua, who serves as CEO and Managing Director, and Kapil Bharti.
The move signals a strategic leadership consolidation at a time when the company is undertaking a complex integration of rival Ecom Express, which it acquired for Rs 1,407 crore in April.
Saharan’s elevation to Whole-time Director also reflects the company’s growing emphasis on talent, culture, and organisational agility, especially as it aims to absorb and align operations following the acquisition. Delhivery expects about Rs 300 crore of integration costs, which it has already factored into the purchase price.
Q4 numbers
Delhivery reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 72 crore in the January–March quarter (Q4 FY25), reversing a net loss of Rs 68 crore a year earlier. Operating revenue for the quarter rose 5% year-on-year to Rs 2,191 crore.
Founded in 2011, Delhivery is a listed logistics tech firm offering services across express parcel transportation, part-truckload and full-truckload freight, cross-border logistics, supply chain, and fulfilment solutions. The company’s customer base includes large and small e-commerce firms, SMEs, D2C brands, and enterprise clients.
